Like every year, in August, Pagani organizes the american rally which has as destination the Monterey Car Week.

Almost all US Huayras came together in Beverly Hills at The Auto Gallery, California’s Pagani service facility, to get ready for the rally. 14 Huayras, including some special editions such as La Monza Lisa, The King, 730S, Huayra Scozia and 1 Zonda Revoluciòn took part at the rally day by day. The rally lasted four days and 7 cars took part also at The Quail. Unfortunately, I haven't took part at this rally, so I am not able to provide you much information, but I share with you some photo albums that I've found around the web, more some pictures shared on instagram by participants.

Stunning Pagani Zonda C12S For Sale

$

0

After disappearing for several years this legendary Zonda is back into the open.

Built in 2002, this Zonda C12S 7.0 is very special for several reasons. The main feature of this car is the color, this is the only Zonda built (until the beginning of Zonda F production) with two-tone bodywork and painted in orange. Only two Zonda's have been produced with this particular shade of orange, this one and the Zonda F Prototype 0.

The cockpit is characterized by black leather and it features several carbon fiber inserts. In addition, this car presents other unique details, such as a carbon fiber panel signed by Horacio Pagani and a unique arrangement of logos in the rear, the Pagani logo which is usually placed at the base of the two spoiler, here is mounted on the right grid while the Zonda logo is located on the left grid.

But the most important feature of this car is that it is one of the few C12-S produced to be equipped with the Racing Kit, which is basically what was the Club Sport package for the Zonda F. This kit includes adjustable Ohlins suspension, ABS, ASR, the Engine Start button located on the shift knob, carbon fiber intake manifold with a new filter and a more powerful exhaust. All of this increases the engine power from 550 HP up to 600 HP.

Maybe some of you remember this Zonda as Richard Hammond's favorite car, in fact it appeared in a very famous episode of the British program Top Gear, where it was driven for 1000 km through beautiful French landscapes.

Many of you know that lately many "old" Zonda's have been converted to newer models like F, Cinque or 760. This is probably one of the last opportunities to buy a C12-S completely original, it would be a real shame seeing this car converted in the umpteenth "special" model as happened to so many other car. This stunning masterpiece is now for sale with only 12,900 Km recorded on the odometer, if you are interested in further information do not hesitate to contact me at: info.prototype0@gmail.com

The first Huayra Dinastia Edition has been unveiled in Shanghai on October 17 2015, during the launch of the first Pagani Showroom in Asia. Pagani cars have been available for many years but they were sold only via licensed third-party dealers. Now, the Italian supercar manufacturer will have its own showroom.

The Huayra Dinastia is a special edition available only for the chinese market, only three cars will be produced at the price of 29 million yuan which are the equivalent of 4.58 million US dollar. The car features a unique body configuration, with a large front spoiler and a racy stabilizing fin on the rear bonnet.

If you want to know more about the Huayra Dinastia edition please read my previous article here.

Now I want repost the Pagani press conference

Pagani, the legendary Italian ultra-luxury sports car maker, celebrated the grand opening of its first showroom in Asia in an unveiling ceremony held in Xintiandi, Shanghai on October 17, 2015. During the ceremony, Pagani presented the new Huayra Dinastia limited edition custom-made for the Chinese market to the public. Its founder, Mr. Horacio Pagani, graced the occasion and witnessed this exciting moment for Pagani with guests and the media in attendance.

Just as every individual is unique, so is a supercar. Born in Modena, a small Italian town known as home to supercars, Pagani believes in finding a perfect match between technology and the art of car design and has created many truly unique models which have achieved legendary status. The company has earned a reputation for ingenious handcraft and ultra-luxury customization. Each Pagani model is equally as high performance as it is rare, and becomes a highly sought after piece of art by top sports car collectors from around the world.

Pagani’s venture in China demonstrates the company’s confidence in China’s domestic market and proves its strategic importance in the global automobile market. Located on Hu Bin Road, Xintiandi neighborhood, the modern landmark of Shanghai, the first Pagani Asia showroom is an Italian-style building featuring unique, chic décor, and is an expression of Pagani’s preferred aesthetic and innovative spirit. The high-tech carbon fiber elements as well as the proprietary hardware dotting the showroom all showcase the brand’s inherited tradition of marrying technology with art and full customization.

In the showroom, besides Pagani’s exclusive service, customers will be able to experience the brand first hand and feel the charm of its auto culture and warmth that comes from a family brand. The showroom will add a real-time 3D car configuration system in the near future to allow a customer to see the specifications of his dream car and preview it in its entirety.
The China-only Huayra Dinastia limited edition is a perfect combination of classic oriental elements and top-notch designs. There are only 3 units in the world, making them the rarest of collections.

The pronunciation of the number “3” (san, 三)in Chinese is a near homophone with the character Sheng (生), which means “life, new birth.”Huayra Dinastia
Drawing inspiration from the Nine Dragon Wall in the Forbidden City in Beijing, the three Huayra Dinastia models all sport different color designs that capture people’s imagination of flying dragons and demonstrate Pagani’s luxury craftsmanship. The Blue carbon unit unveiled today symbolizes Baxia, the floating dragon in the water, whose elliptical shape captures the beauty of flowing water. The highlight of its design is the flying white dragon pattern made so vivid and distinctive on the blue engine hood. The eye-catching golden wheel hubs as well as the calligraphic Chinese characters Baxia embroidered on the seat covers, on the other hand, enhance its status as a premium luxury brand.

Mr. Horacio Pagani has high hopes for Pagani’s development in China. “As Chinese customers become more informed about auto brands, I’d like Chinese supercar enthusiasts to have the opportunity to experience our brand close up, understand our culture and the inherited brand story,” says Mr. Pagani. “Through our effort in the Chinese market, we hope to make it easier for top supercar collectors in China to realize their dreams.” As the ultra-luxury supercar market in China continues to develop and as Chinese people become more sophisticated in their choice of automobiles, Pagani will further nurture its business in China and Asia by constantly improving its sales and service networks in China, in order to provide a unique brand experience and excellent customer service to its valued customers.

Pagani Zonda "La Nonna". A One Million Kilometer Long Story

$

As many of you already know it's one year that I work with Lovecars, the first automotive social hub, and for this reason I am a little less active on Prototype 0. A few days ago I visited the Pagani factory and I met a very special car. I want to repost here the article I wrote yesterday on Lovecars. Enjoy!

Yesterday I visited the Pagani factory with some friends who had never been before. The last time I was there was the occasion of the annual Pagani gathering. A lot of thing have changed since that...

The new factory is about to be completed and all the cars under assembly there are completely new. But the thing that impressed me the most was one of the cars showcased in the old factory showroom.

To be exact, I'm talking about the Pagani Zonda Prototype 2, or better known by the alias "La Nonna". This car hasn't appeared for the last two years and it's just been restored for the occasion of Horacio's sixtieth birthday.

You are probably wondering why it's called "La Nonna", well, the english translation is "grandmother". The nickname was assigned by the workers over the years because this is the oldest Zonda there was; but this is no longer technically true...

The car was built in 1998 as a Zonda C12 equipped with the first version of the mighty M120 engine, at the time it had a 6.0 litre engine capable of delivering around 394 hp pushing the car to over 330 km/h.

But the fate of this car was not to remain an elegant C12. In fact, being the factory prototype, in a short time it had been updated to the "C12-S 7.0" specific.

Over the years this car has developed all the components of each Zonda model until the brutal 760, except for the R's. Pagani, before building the new model, used to upgrade and test for many kilometers with this glorious example.

To date this car has covered more than ONE MILLION KILOMETERS and its restoration has been finished in order for it to be revealed in the future factory museum. The restoration has maintained faith to the historical configuration of this car, silver paint with red interior, but it has also had some aesthetic upgrades typical of the Cinque model.

Who knows, maybe a million kilometres is not enough and we will see this jewel shine once again on the Italian roads, who knows maybe the next Vanishing Point. The gallery below shows this Zonda during the various steps of its history.

Pagani Huayra BC - 150 kg Lighter and 100 hp More Powerful

A few days ago, some spy shots of the latest novelty Pagani were leaked. This new model was unveiled privately to customers a couple of days ago, and it has already attracted enormous interest among enthusiasts. In this article, I will try to clarify a few of the doubts about the new model.

Well, its name is Huayra BC, and one of the most frequent questions I've heard around it is concerns about what the name "BC" means. The oldest Pagani fans will definitely remember Benny Caiola. He was one of the first Pagani customers, as well as a great friend of Horacio, regarded as a mentor to such an extent as to dedicate him a car. Such as how the Zonda F was dedicated to Formula One driver Juan Manuel Fangio. Caiola owned several Zondas and one of them, a white Zonda F, was regularly driven by Horacio. In the factory showroom, you can find a letter by Caiola where he thanked all the employees for the excellent work they have done building the cars. He also left a sum of money to offer them dinner.

The Huayra BC was born with the concept to create a more oriented track version of the Huayra for customers who already own a Pagani. Only 20 units will be produced, and they are all already sold out. This masterpiece will launch in March at the Geneva Motor Show with a starting price around 2.5 million euros. I wouldn't be surprised if a Roadster version is produced as well, but we will probably have to wait two years for that considering the normal Huayra Roadster will be unveiled at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The latter will be produced in 100 units as the Coupe; 50 of these are already sold.

Aesthetically speaking, the Huayra BC represents the change that has happened between the Zonda F and the Zonda Cinque. The new livery with the carbon centre part and the length of stripe recalls the Cinque style. The front bumper has been redesigned. It has a wider mouth and a prominent spoiler. Two air intakes were added to the front fenders while those at the rear were widened. The side skirts have a new aerodynamic design; the new wheels have a larger diameter; and a huge diffuser was added to the rear end.

But one of the main features is the wing, which appears on the Huayra for the first time. This new wing will work together with the active flaps and will be able to generate 500 kilograms of downforce at a speed of 250 kilometers per hour. Even in the cockpit, Pagani has made several changes that make the interior much sportier, similar to the Zonda Cinque.

Horacio Pagani recently confirmed that the Huayra BC weights 1200 kg and develops 830 hp, 150 kg lighter and 100 hp more powerful than the base model. Therefore, if the standard Huayra was able to generate 1.7 g of lateral acceleration, you can imagine what kind of monster the BC will be. Surely fans of the brand will not be disappointed by this new beast. Now that we are close to its official debut, if you don't want to miss this wonder, you need to plan a trip to the Geneva Motor Show pretty quick. Of course, we will be present during the press days as well.

Pagani Huayra BC Queen of the Geneva Motor Show 2016

The hardcore version of the famous Pagani Huayra has been unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 2016. For once it's not the numbers and technical data that make headlines, but more importantly - at least for the founder Horacio Pagani - the dedication made by the initials "BC" which stand for Benny Caiola, late friend, great enthusiast, supercar collector and first customer in the Pagani Automobili history. The Pagani Huayra BC is characterized by a series of radical changes that make it quite different from the Huayra Coupe, at least on the technical level. La Casa di San Cesario sul Panaro is keen to stress that the "BC" has no body panel in common with the standard Huayra, except for the roof.

Instead of following the widespread trend to propose hybrid supercars like Ferrari, McLaren and Porsche, Pagani decided to remain true to its tradition by focusing on the fundamental objective: To create the lightest road legal hypercar in the world. They have optimized the chassis and suspension to ensure racing performance while maintaining the traveling comfort and have developed a robotized gearbox suitable for this purpose. In fact, the arms and joints of the suspension are made of forged HiForg, an aluminum alloy that reduces weight by 25 % compared to those of the standard Huayra. The Brembo brakes with carbon-ceramic brake discs and calipers are housed by high-performance 20- and 21-inch wheels that fit Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires (255/30ZR20 and 355/25ZR21) developed specifically for the "BC" and with an asymmetrical tread pattern similar to the slick used in Formula 1 a few years ago. For track use you can instead opt for the special Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R on 19" and 20" wheels. The total weight of the Huayra BC is only 1,218 kg, quite remarkable compared to the 1,350 kg LaFerrari, the 1,450 kg McLaren P1 and the 1,640 kg Porsche 918 Spyder.

The completely revised aerodynamics is the most striking novelty of the Pagani Huayra BC, with numerous spoilers and winglets designed to reduce friction and eliminate the lift effect. Several tests carried out in the wind tunnel with Dallara have allowed Pagani to maximize the downforce and grip for the BC, not only thanks to the large tail wing, but also thanks to the aerodynamic flow in the underbody and internal circuits that have have been accelerated to improve the cooling of the mechanical components and the adherence to the ground.

The engine of the Huayra BC is the same well known V12 biturbo engine of 5,980 cc specially developed by Mercedes-AMG, producing more than 750 hp at 6,200 revs (for the BC the power should be between 830 and 850 hp) and 1,000 Nm at 4,000 revs. The sports exhaust system has a reduced pressure, a specific loudness and is made of titanium. The 7-speed automatic gearbox is all new, made by British Xtrac with electrohydraulic transmissions, synchronizers made of carbon fiber and a high-precision clutch control. To this was added the active electronic differential that improves driving on the track and on the road and also new axle shafts with constant velocity joint derived from endurance races like the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

In the cockpit you immediately notice black brushed aluminum and carbon fiber inserts with refined suede linings that help to give a racing tone to the interior while the classic manual parking brake lever has been replaced with an electric one and the infotainment system is completely new. Along with the Huayra BC, a Huayra with the new "Tempesta" package was showcased on the Geneva stand. It provides a new front spoiler, rear diffuser and a new set of wheels.

My opinion on the Huayra BC? I really like the car and in real she looks much better than in pictures, the interior is the thing I appreciated most on the car. I really appreciate that the BC prototype #003 that was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show shows a configuration that recalls the Zonda F owned by Benny Caiola. But to be completely honest I think the rear wing is completely out of place with the soft and elegant silhouette of the Pagani Huayra. If it was really necessary to put a wing I would have opted for a less conspicuous ala, perhaps similar to the one mounted on the Koenigsegg CCX.

Pagani Huayra BC Launch In New York

Few days ago the Pagani Huayra BC was unveiled at the Bathhouse Studio in Manhattan, NYC for its North America debut. The car exhibited is the Prototype 3, chassis #113, exactly the same car showcased during the last Geneva Motor Show. The configuration of this Huayra recalls the Zonda F owned by Benny Caiola, currently owned by Mr. Horacio Pagani himself. By now you all know that the Huayra BC is dedicated to Benny Caiola, big friend, great enthusiast, supercar collector and first customer in the Pagani Automobili history.

Several customers, friends and parterns took part at the Huayra BC launch, and some of them arrived onboard their own Pagani, such as Huayra #099, Huayra The King 1 of 1 of 1" #086 and a full carbon Huayra equipped with Pacchetto Tempesta (#058?). But our attention is turned to other cars, which are not Huayra! Our friend @lamborghiniks arrived in style on board an extremely rare Zonda, an early example of Zonda C12-S, and a truck that has unloaded the very first Pagani One Off, the legendary Zonda Monza!

The red Zonda C12-S is one of the first cars built by Pagani in early 2000, it's the only C12-S painted in red, and it's one of the first Zonda landed in USA. In fact, a big part of the short history of this beauty can be traced only in USA, the few times that came out of its garage. This is one of the few Zonda remained completely original, thanks Kris for not having converted it! Currently there are too many Zonda Frankenstein..

As I previously said, the Zonda Monza is the very first one-off built by Pagani, and one of the few Zonda that can be really defined one-off. The Zonda Monza is a track-day car, not homologated for street use, built in 2004 for US customer. This Zonda is equipped with a dry sump version of the 7.3 liters engine of the Zonda S, which is rigidly fixed to the carbon fiber frame, as the Zonda R. This is the only track car built by Pagani with a manual gearbox! Even this car wasn't driven many times during the years.

I just realized that the article was on the Huayra BC and I ended up talking about Zonda. Well, if you expected that I would have talked about the technical specifications of the BC after two months since its debut you are on the wrong blog dear readers.

Finally, it was a lovely evening, I would have loved to attend, hope they'll have sold many BC even if they are already all sold out, and can not wait to see the Huayra Roadster!

Prototype 0 Reveals The Pagani Zonda MD

Finally, she has been revealed. The beautiful Zonda MD after a long build period has finally been completed. As most of you have guessed, the car is a sort of Zonda 760, but with a more sober look.

It was one year ago when I saw Pagani employees working on the car. At the beginning of the construction of a Zonda, you can not understand a thing. You can see only the chassis, the front and rear frames; then the rest is a big confusion of cables and mechanical parts. Sometimes you can guess the color of the car from the roof pillars, but you aren't sure she will look this way in the end.

Back in autumn, I visited the Pagani factory, and the car was at the halfway stage of the construction process. The engine and the transmission were already mounted but a lot of things, such as the exhaust, interior and body panels, were missing.

The last time I visited the factory was for the Cars and Coffee rally, the car was parked at the end of the production line, and I was breathless. Not many people paid attention to the car because they were more interested in the Huayras building process. I spent a long time around the car with some friends—she fascinated us a lot!

The name comes from a combination of letters, which are the initials of the lucky owner. The car is characterized by fully visible carbon-fiber body tinted with a thin layer of ink blue paint. The combination is fantastic. The color changes depending on the perspective and the light. It also features a clear carbon fiber air scoop and wing, matte grey wheels and black brake calipers.

Unlike other Zonda 760, the Zonda MD does not present too many aerodynamic appendices except for a huge rear wing. The lack of the central fin, the airscoops on the rear fenders and other small things that make the shilouette of this car very harmonious and elegant. Nonetheless, the Zonda MD features some unique details such as a completely new front bonnet with wide openings, NACA intakes on the rear fenders, and so on.

The cockpit is characterized by visible carbon fiber painted the same as the exterior, aluminium anodized inserts and brown leather and beige alcantara seats.

Moreover, the owner is a good pilot and likes to enjoy the car in long and fast journeys. In fact, the car is equipped with a manual gearbox! In my opinion, this beast is one of the best special custom made Zonda ever built. I really hope to see this car on the road for the upcoming Pagani gathering.

- INTRODUCTION -

San Cesario sul Panaro - 14TH of February, 2017. The objective is always to outdo oneself. Pure beauty in all shapes and surfaces- this is the philosophy behind Horacio Pagani’s latest creation. From this foundation is built a masterpiece with a perfect balance of attention to detail and technological advancement. The combination of Art and Science: a founding principle and cornerstone to the philosophy of Pagani Automobili. This creed comes from the genius of Leonardo da Vinci, who pursued perfection in form and function at every stage of the process, down to the most minute component of the design. All Pagani creations are born from this relentless chase of beauty and passion. The Huayra Roadster represents an unbridled artistic showcase, featuring the most dynamic technology; this is Horacio Pagani’s open-air tribute to the gods of wind.

First presented to the public in Geneva in 2011, the Pagani Huayra Coupe marked a new era of hypercars. The Huayra Coupe became the gold standard, raising the bar for lightweight build and innovative performance-based technology. This formidable combination earned the Huayra Coupe the most accolades in the automobile industry, second only to the Zonda.

The Huayra BC was a natural evolution, raw power packaged into a 1,218 kg high-performance automobile, and, at 1.8 G, capable of the highest lateral acceleration ever seen on a car with road tires. Valuable experience and knowledge gained from relentless testing on the road and the most difficult circuits of the world, enabled Pagani Automobili to build a solid technical premise from which to base all Research and Development. This foundation and expertise was crucial in the development of the technical solutions applied to the Huayra Roadster.

- THE STYLE -

The Huayra Roadster project began in 2010, with the ostensibly simple idea of a Huayra Coupe with a removable roof and conventional doors, as was developed for the Zonda Roadster in 2003. In 2013, the design was scrapped and everything restarted from the beginning of the design process. Each Pagani creation has a life of its own, every detail must have its own harmony in line with the spirit and soul of the machine car. The Pagani Huayra Roadster became a project independent of its predecessor, a machine car with its own soul.

“Pensiamo a Huayra Coupè, alla sua linea elegante e senza tempo,
Huayra Roadster doveva esserne la sorella ribelle, formosa e bellissima
ma con quel tocco di malizia tipico di chi è spensierato”.

“If we think of the Huayra Coupe as a personification of elegance and timeless lines,
the Huayra Roadster was to be the rebellious sister, shapely and beautiful, but with a sharp edge for those who are careless.”

Horacio Pagani

From the very beginning, the Huayra Roadster door design followed in the tradition of the Mercedes-Benz models of the 1950’s, specifically the gullwing doors of the 300-SL, and its Roadster variant featuring conventional doors. In the end, the design closely follows in the tradition of Pagani - the vehicle best represented in the Huayra Roadster design: the Zonda Cinque Roadster.

The overall shape is smooth and immediate, where each line has a beginning and a definite end. Every last detail has been revised- every contour made more defined, every curve redrawn multiple times to arrive together in a cohesive, liquid form.

From the more aggressive and pronounced mouth of the car, framed by wider wheel arches, from the shape of the roll bars to the upgraded interior- every single element of the car has been scrutinized and redesigned. Every detail considered and developed with its own unique design language, in direct symmetry with aerodynamic requirements.

The bonnet has a fundamental function: an elegant vitrine containing both the technology and the art of the engine. By natural evolution, its design took on a life of its own, becoming a space with its own stylistic identity, itself worthy of being exhibited in an art gallery.

Unlike most modern supercars, the Huayra Roadster is almost fully exposed, with nearly every mechanical part visible, every last piece proud to be revealed. Staying true to the Pagani philosophy of respecting every last detail in the design, every piece of the car given consideration and attention. Even the smallest screw is designed to be both beautiful and functional.

- THE CHASSIS AND THE MATERIALS -

“Ci siamo fissati da subito dei traguardi ambiziosi.
Il primo, dal punto di vista tecnico era quello di fare una roadster più leggera del coupé,
che al tempo era già la hypercar più leggera sul mercato…”

“From the beginning we set for ourselves some rather ambitious targets.
The first, from a technical point of view, was to make a Roadster that would be lighter than the Coupé, which was already the lightest hypercar on sale at the time...”

Horacio Pagani

One of the ambitious goals set at the beginning of the project was to build a Roadster that would be lighter than the Coupe, improving the torsional rigidity of the frame. Armed with the expertise gained from the Zonda R, Huayra Coupe and the Huayra BC, the Pagani engineering team further refined the development of carbo-titanium. Combined with a new form of composite material and developed for the Huayra Roadster, it is considered more advanced than materials used for Formula 1 cars. This complex and highly ambitious undertaking has allowed for a 52% increase in stiffness, at the same weight, thanks to the combination of the Carbo-Titanium and the Carbo-Triax HP52. The dry weight of the Huayra Roadster measures 1,280kg, about 80kg less than the Huayra Coupe, while also increasing in torsional flexional rigidity - an incredible achievement by its own right, from a purely technical standpoint.

“Intraprendere questa impresa per fare solo poco più di 100 macchine
è uno sforzo impressionante per una compagnia come la nostra,
dal punto di vista tecnico, umano ed economico.”

“Engaging in such a challenge, to make just 100 cars, has meant an impressive effort
for a company like ours, from a technical, human, and economic point of view.”

Horacio Pagani

- THE ENGINE -

The Pagani Huayra Roadster is powered by the Mercedes-AMG M158 engine. The twelve-cylinder engine, built specifically for Pagani by Mercedes-AMG, has benefitted from the research and development done for the Huayra BC, delivering power of 764 HP at 6200 RPM, with a torque of over 1000 NM already available at 2400 RPM.

Equipped with the most cutting edge technology, the twin-turbo, 12 cylinder, narrow angled 60 degree engine with 5,980 cm3 has been developed to satisfy both the international homologation standards and the even more stringent Pagani internal standards, resulting in a driving experience both relaxed and electrifying. The turbines have been developed to provide an immediate throttle response without delay, providing the driver with full control of the vehicle. The dry sump lubrication allows for perfect engine response, even under the most extreme lateral acceleration conditions. The M158 motor is approved for the most restrictive EURO 6b and Carb environment regulations.

- THE GEARBOX -

The extraordinary power and torque of the Huayra Roadster is powered by a new gearbox seven-speed AMT successfully developed for the Huayra BC. Built by X-Track, it incorporates a hydraulic and electronic activation system and is combined with new carbon synchronizers, resulting in seamless and absolute precision when shifting, thanks also to the development of a new ECU together with Automac. The differential is electronic, with an advanced control system developed in conjunction with Bosch, ensuring adaptation to all possible driving conditions: from day to day drivability to track performance, always providing driver stability and exceptional vehicle safety.

The weight of entire unit, including the electronic differential, is approximately 40% less than the standard dual-clutch gearbox. The gearbox itself is mounted in a transverse position, significantly reducing the polar inertia of the entire vehicle and moving optimally at the center of gravity of the car. This results in a safe understeering response of the Huayra Roadster, ensuring comfort and safety for road driving and predictable behavior and control on the track.

- THE SUSPENSION -

The refinement of the suspension of Pagani Automobili creations has always been a point of pride and a key component in the design of the cars signed by Horacio Pagani. In the same way the development of the technology behind the Zonda R flowed naturally into the development of the technology of the Huayra Coupe, the Huayra BC development was the staging ground for the Huayra Roadster. Every concept learned from the previous model is applied and further developed for the new model. All of the suspension assembly is a work of art and a concentration of the latest technology, made in a lightweight aluminum alloy, called HiForg, designed specifically for the Huayra Roadster. This lightened the car by 25%, compared to the Huayra coupe, an extraordinary result for a car already considered the paragon in optimizing power-weight ratio.

This sophisticated and technological marvel enables in the Huayra Roadster perfect behavior under any driving situation.

- THE BRAKES -

A long time partner of Pagani, Brembo has always delivered outstanding performance to Pagani cars. Since the Zonda F in 2006, Pagani cars have some of the shortest recorded stopping distances for 100-0 and 200-0. Certainly, the lightweight form of the car helps, but the results are a testament to the power and efficacy of the braking system. For the Huayra Roadster, Brembo has developed a new carbon ceramic (CCM) implant with 380x34 mm and a 6-piston caliper in the front and 380x34 mm, 4-piston caliper at the rear.

The design of the caliper has been developed by Pagani and Brembo to decrease as much as possible the weight of the unsprung mass, resulting in a perfect balance of beauty and technological advancement. The most advanced brake caliper Brembo has ever created.

- THE TIRES -

“Power is nothing without control.” This is the famous mantra that drove the Pirelli engineers to sculpt and design a specific rubber for the Huayra Roadster tires, allowing the vehicle to achieve an incredible performance of 1.8 g of lateral force. Performance was not the only factor in consideration for the development of the new tire; the Pirelli PZero Corsa for the Huayra Roadster was also designed to have a lower rolling resistance, reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.

Developed and built inside Pirelli “MIRS” Modular Integrated Robotized System, the department for the manufacturing of high performance tires, the new Pirelli PZero Corsa measures 21 inches in the rear and 20 inches in the front. Developed along with Horacio Pagani, the tire displays for the first time the “HP” logo on the shoulder.

- ESP -

Continuing intensive development over the past five years, Pagani Automobili and Bosch have developed a new ESP system for the Huayra Roadster - an electronic stability control system enhancing the dynamic capabilities of the Huayra Roadster without ever being invasive, without ever giving the impression that any power other than the pilot himself has control of the vehicle. The system is a natural extension of the dynamic abilities of the car.

It has always been a baseline requirement from the earliest design phases that the car must be mechanically sound with safe understeering, before starting the development of electronic control systems.

The development started on the Huayra BC and was refined for the characteristics of the Huayra Roadster, leading to the identification of five distinct driving modes: Wet, Comfort, Sport, Race and ESC Off. Each with its own soul, fully maximizing the potential of the latest creation from the atelier of San Cesario sul Panaro.

- THE AERODYNAMICS -

Huayra, the god of wind. With the Huayra Coupe Pagani Automobili was the first automaker to develop a fully computerised Active Aerodynamic system on a production car. The concept has been further developed on the Huayra BC and brought to excellence on the Huayra Roadster.

Four flaps, two in the front and two in the rear, together with the front active suspension, work independently to ensure continuous optimum safety and a considerable performance in all conditions. The active aerodynamic system works to keep the bottom of the vehicle always parallel to the road, increasing the efficiency of the air flows above and below the car, ensuring an optimal downforce on both road and track.

Beauty as a marriage of form and function: the central front section, the front extractors and a flat bottom. Always well-defined lines. A great work of study, simulation and testing on 1:1 scale models in the wind tunnel, has been done to minimize turbulence and air flows which generally occur in an open-top car at the rear roll bar and front window level. The work carried out to ensure the Huayra Roadster with efficient downforce under all conditions, has proved very important and took a long time and concentration. But it went hand in hand with the concept of style, creating a sinuous but defined shape, which reveals the dynamic and performance qualities of Huayra Roadster.

- THE ROOF -

“L’italia è un paese meraviglioso.
Con la Huayra Roadster mi sono immaginato la compagna perfetta
per percorrere questo museo a cielo aperto”.

“Italy is a wonderful country. I imagined the Huayra Roadster as the perfect companion for travelling this open-air museum “.

Horacio Pagani

Pagani Huayra Roadster will be fitted with two types of roof. The first consists in a very light carbon hard top with a central glass element, very simple and quick to install. In this configuration it assumes the look of a coupe, with a glass roof that provides the passenger a unique brightness, protecting them from UV rays and also giving a sense of freedom typical of a Roadster even with the installed hard roof.

The second type of roof is a fabric and carbon cover that can be easily installed manually and can be stored inside of Huayra Roadster. The Soft Roof can be installed in a few simple steps and in case of emergency.
